Open Doors With Learning
Our mission is to support local libraries by donating books so every child can access educational resources and opportunities to learn.

About Us
We’re Anna and Tina Xing – twin sisters from Long Island, seniors attending Ward Melville High School.
Open Doors with Learning, was launched by us together in the summer of 2024. Our initiative is to help bring more high-quality, new books of various topics – science, fiction, biographies, etc – to public libraries around Long Island. questions. We believe every child deserves access to great learning materials, no matter where they live.
You can read more about us below. Please contact us if you have any inquiries!

Anna Xing
Anna Xing is a senior attending Ward Melville High School in Long Island, NY. She’s fascinated by all natural phenomena – sunsets, sunrises, aurora borealis – but her favorite is the vibrant blue lava that oozes from volcanoes from sulfur contamination. One day, she hopes to witness this in-person. Anna also enjoys go-karting (despite having only tried once) and karaoking.

Tina Xing
Tina Xing is a senior attending Ward Melville High School in Long Island, NY. She dedicated photography as one of her side-projects – her favorite tactics including altering shading and lighting of everyday objects. You can check out her website here. Tina also relishes rollerblading around her neighborhood, picking up fossils, and thinks moulins are pretty cool.

What We Do
At Open Doors with Learning, we collect and donate books to public libraries in our area. We focus on providing fun and educational books—especially in STEM subjects—for kids who may not have easy access to them. Such books range from fictional storybooks to non-fiction books. We want every child to have the chance to explore, imagine, and learn through them.
How You Can Help
You can support our mission by donating new or gently used books—especially in STEM subjects—spreading the word through your school or social media, or reaching out if you’re a local library interested in receiving books.
Updates & Stories
We’ll post updates about our donations and the libraries we’ve partnered with. Check back here for stories, photos, and milestones — like the number of books donated, highlights from recent drives, or thank-yous from the community. We’re excited to share the impact we’re making together!
